We have a lot of exciting plans for this very special event!
One of these special events helping us celebrate 40 years of Back To The 50′s is the Great Race! There will be approximately 140 cars. The cars will be showcased on Friday and on Saturday morning in the Grandstand infield. They will begin their Great Race from Back To The 50′s on Saturday afternoon!
NEW! The Great Race television show will air on an episode of Hot Rod TV on the Speed Channel, which will air on March 23, at 11am EST. It will re-air on Sunday, March 24 at 8am EST. Jeff Stumb wrote “without a doubt it is the best show about our event ever”. The time it airs in each time zone may vary, so check your local listings – You don’t want to miss it. NEW! Model Car Contest!
The Model Car Contest is one of the highlights of Back To The 50′s! For information and model classifications go to the Model Car Contest page. The Contest will again be held under the Grandstand June 21st thru 23rd.The Route 66 Diorama will also be back. Don Bonin, the artist who built it, has a 5 foot addition under construction. It is an amazing trip back in time to the era when we all fell in love with cars.
NEW! 1955 Chevy POW MIA dragster
is coming to the 2013 Back to the 50′s!
Max Lofgren, a Viet Nam vet from WIllows, CA wanted to find a way to honor the POWs and MIAs from the Viet Nam war. He decided to build a car and write all the names of the heroes who have never come home on the car in chronological order of when they went missing..
