When Tex Smith stopped by the office we had a chance to visit about a lot of things.... one of the stories that came up was why the NSRA was called Street Rod  Association....  seems that back in the beginning when they were planning car shows, the word  “Hot Rod” had a really negative connotation and if they told town officials they were having a Hot Rod show they were not welcome .... so instead when asked what kind of cars were coming...they said  “Street Rods”   This latest story sort of tells about that ...
