NJ TRANS AM & ALL PONTIAC RUN

Readington, NJ
Saturday, July 8, 2023

The skies started out sunny and bright, but as departure time drew near, the skies were overcast, they spit rain drops at us on the ground.

We departed fairly close to 1:45 p.m., got on Rt 287 north, and hit a colossal traffic jam, caused by some driver stupidity, of possibly epic proportions, causing multiple vehicles to be involved. The Clouds again spit rain drops on us, and due to the heat, humidity, sporadic periods of rain, and the traffic tie up, several of our participants had to bow out. I myself at one point had to dive on to the shoulder, as my 76 Trans Am was not liking the combination of heat, and slow or simply stopped dead traffic.

After we passed the scene of the carnage, things picked up, and the remaining participants continued on to our destination, the Readington Brewery. A couple of our participants decided not to take the road trip, and they met us at the Brewery.

A big thank you to Jose Plamenco, who suggested the destination for this year’s NJ Trans Am/All Pontiac Run.

Once everyone was parked, I took a few more photos of the participants’ cars, and selected the vehicles the Best Firebird, and Best Pontiac Trophies would be awarded to.

I went inside myself, sampled one of the Brewery’s home brewed Beers, had a slice of Pizza from one of the Pizza Pies a participant had ordered in, and then asked everyone to momentarily gather outside for the Trophy Presentations, and a few photos. The best Firebird Trophy went to a White 1970 Trans Am, owned by a young lady from south Jersey, and Best Pontiac went to a Pontiac Lemans.

Shortly after the photo taking and awards presentations, most of the participants, and I, left. The skies were once again looking ominous, and so we all beat feet, before possibly getting caught in a downpour.

In the end another NJ Trans Am/All Pontiac in the books, and hopefully we can all gather and do this again in 2024.
