32nd Annual West Coast Kustoms Cruisin’ Nationals
The recently held 32nd Annual West Coast Kustoms Cruisin’ Nationals, in Santa Maria, was another home run for the group, as hundreds of customs, hot rods and under construction cars enjoyed the weekend cruising, listening to outstanding bands, roller skating and showing off the cars…add to this 2 buildings packed with vendors, pin striping displays, model car display and bicycle display, as well as celebrities signing autographs, and well, you get the idea….this is a ‘don’t miss event’…see you here next year!
The weekend starts off with the Annual Hall of Fame dinner, with many of the West Coast Kustoms Hall of Fame members in attendance…Luke Karosi, editor of the West Coast Kustoms newsletter and I shared a table with ’87 inductee Frank DeRosa, Pat Ganahl, inducted in 2010, and Dick “Peep” Jackson inducted in 2011. Also in attendance this year were Gene Winfield, who was inducted in 1982, the first year; Rod Powell, ’86, Bill Hines, ’88, George Barris, ’94, Blackie Gejeian, ’95, Art Himsl, 2002, Paul Bragg, 2009 and Jack Stewart, 2012 filling out the HOF members there to honor this year’s inductees, Frank Livingston and Richard Zocchi…unfortunately Richard was unable to attend, but did send his award winning 1962 ‘Cool 300’ Chrysler, displayed closely to John D’Agostino’s award winning ‘Sophia’ and ‘Ruby’ at the entrance to the show…enjoy the ride as we walk through the show
