Every Wednesday night during the summer months the streets in South Lyon roll up to celebrate a car show which is co-sponsored by one or more local car clubs. My club, Motor State Street Rods, was one of those featured clubs tonight and everyone enjoyed a beautiful summer night. The turnout is always better each year in both cars and spectators, and tonight was no exception. South Lyon is a, s.e. Michigan town which started in the early 1800’s and it is wonderful to see a town of this age still prospering. Various pics depict the original architecture and home town nature of the town itself. On a sad note, only a few months ago the town lost one if its most famous buildings, which I have honored in the last two pics of this coverage. The South Lyon Hotel was built in 1867 and all though not a functioning motel for many years, it was one of Chris Bakers restaurant’s and a good spot for some very good food and old building atmosphere. Chris has promised it will return in some form hopefully saving the entry architecture from this building. Let me know if you enjoyed the pics!
