Suede Palace at the 64th Grand National Roadster Show
LA Fairplex, Pomona, CAFriday, January 25, 2013
The Suede Palace is a place to experience the Hot Rod counter culture. The term “rat rod” is passé, these “traditional” or “vintage” rods are evolving from the crude rusty pieces of old cars, assembled as a figment of someone’s imagination, then usually primered and driven daily. As they have become more successful the finer paint jobs, pinstriping and chromed parts have become the norm. Imagination continues to inspire these well-built creations.
The lively Suede Palace was the place to come for awesome music, the Trophy Girl beauty contest and edgier vendors. The unique handmade awards were worth the trip.
Some of the award winners were,
BEST HOT ROD - Mynor Martinez - Red '40 Ford coupe - Throttle Kings car club
BEST CUSTOM - Mike Bello - Burgundy '40 Mercury - Bellos Customs - San Diego.
BEST OF SHOW - Dave Mock "DaveyDeuce" - Black with Flames '40 Ford Coupe with Blown Caddy engine.
Thanks for the Show!
