Goodguys 36th All American Get-Together March 24-25, 2018

Words: Avery Finnivan    Photos: Dean Court

The 36th rendition of Goodguys' All American Get-Together was spectacular, if a little damp on Saturday. Scattered showers throughout the day failed to lower attendees' spirits, and Sunday rewarded their resilience with brilliant sunshine.

A bevy of beautiful rides took home the event's various special awards. Particular standouts included the '32 Ford Roadster belonging to Dennis Marvin of Vancouver, Wash., which won the Timeless Traditional award; Julio Del Torro of San Leandro, Calif.'s '68 Chevy Caprice SS, which claimed the YoungGuys award, and the '41 Ford Custom of Tom & Marsha Zink from Gresham, OR, which took the Cool Custom award.

Of course, the most anticipated award was the Custom of the Year award, which was claimed by Bruce and Cheryl Conwell’s “Wickcad” 1949 Cadillac by Chris Carlson. The Conwells brought their gorgeous Caddy from Wichita, Kan. to present it at the show.

Also of note were the daring Autocross winners. Scott Fraser of San Jose, Calif., driving a '66 Cobra, took first in both Pro Class and Shootout - not his first wins at a Goodguys event. David Carrol from Morgan Hill, Calif. won the Street Machine class.

One of our awesome photographers, Dean Court, attended the Get-Together, so if you'd like to see more pictures from the event, take a look at his coverage from both Saturday and Sunday. For a full list of the event's award winners, visit the Goodguys website.
