In 1962, the future Roamin Angels were into hopping up their cars and drag racing them in Grass Valley, Calif. They formed a car club and worked towards convincing the city fathers to convert an old airstrip into a drag strip; the idea was banned. So was street racing by members of the club, so they started helping people stranded on the road. Cards were made to give to those they assisted, so they might know who had helped them.
The group finally got the drag strip to race legally. When they needed a club name, Roamin Angels was chosen. The club still exists to this day and they have a lot of members to help things along, and help stranded cars on the freeways of Grass Valley & Nevada City, because they are great group of hotrodders.
