Aztec Bronze Chevy II SS L79
It was almost 6 years ago I first discovered this car. It was in a project state that had stalled. After talking to the owner for a while, I found out some interesting things about this car. The owner had moved to this area from AZ. and brought this Chevy II with him, along with a 1968 Chevy 4×4. At the time he had the 4×4 for sale. We talked about the truck and how much he wanted for it. I asked him what was the c.i. of the engine? He told me that it was a 327; the original engine that came in the Chevy II. I could not believe what I had just heard. I ask him if the car was for sale and he said no, that it was his first car. I understood that. I wrote down the engine I.D. and the casting number. I researched the numbers an turns out that he was telling me the truth. I don’t believe everything I am told. The engine has a VIN # stamped on it that matched the VIN tag. ZJ =327-350HP WITH AC. The rest of the story, I bought the truck pulled the motor, dropped a new 350 crate motor in, had a fresh paint job applied to the truck, dropped by where he lived at the time, this was 3 years later, he had not touched the car. I asked him if we could work up a trade on the car for the truck, and he said we could. That was the first time he was willing to talk to me about that Chevy II, THE REST IS HISTORY. It’s been fun; I hope everyone will enjoy looking at a 40-year-old car that has been brought back to life as much as I do. Thanks Ronnie Richmond.
