Somernites Cruise Opening Weekend 2013 is April 26-27 and that is just a few days away!
It’s time to get your hotrod ready to cruise to Somerset, KY for the first Somernites show of the year!
It’s been a loooooong winter so, lets kick the season off in style!
We’ve got some new events for you right off the bat at the April show. So, keep reading and please if you know of someone who would like to receive this newsletter, please forward it to them using the “Forward email” link at the very bottom left of this page.
We will also post a copy of this newsletter on our Facebook Fan Page as well so, don’t forget to share it with your friends there!
So, what’s happening at the April show? Here is just a sampling…
The Bars Leaks “Eliminator” Monster Truck will be here courtesy of the great folks at O’Reilly Auto Parts! Moms and Dads will definately want to bring the kids out to see this!
We’re giving away a Super Door Prize this month and there is nothing to buy to be eligible to win! Just show up with your show car or truck and you’ll receive a FREE chance to win!
This months Showcase Area will feature Hotrod Haulers (classic & custom trucks)! Make plans to bring yours and show it off!
The Saturday Morning Fun Run will feature our first annual Somernites Poker Run with fantastic cash prizes for the winners!
And of course the April 26-27 weekend will be your first chance to purchase tickets on our big Raffle prizes for 2013…a Red 1966 Mustang Convertible and a Gatormade 20′ Enclosed Car Trailer!

The new 2013 dated t-shirt has just arrived! The cool new design is just what you need to show your Somernites colors. Get yours beginning April 26th at the Walmart Block Party in downtown Somerset! These are only available at the show currently. We will begin selling them online in early May.
Available in your favorite colors and sizes!
Price is only $18 tax included!
We anticipate a huge demand for the new design so, do not wait! Make plans to be at Somernites Cruise for the Opening Weekend and grab yours while you can!
We will still be offering the very popular Nostalgia Shirts as well.
Look for the new license plate design and even new kids shirts. All of these items can be purchased at the merchandise trailer located in the Square area at all Somernites Show & Shine events.

| April Showcase theme is Hotrod Haulers! |
 Each month our Showcase Area features a different make or model and to kick the year off we’ve decided to do something alittle different. This month we will be spotlighting Hotrod Haulers in the Showcase Area. All you custom and classic truck owners need to cruise into Somernites for this special event! All years and models are welcome and as always there is no charge to take part in the Showcase. We even have a special VIP entrance gate located on the south end of downtown. It’s for Hotrod Haulers ONLY!

 Coming to the April 27th show! The Bars Leaks Eliminator Monster Truck presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts! You’ve just gotta see this 1400 horsepower Ford F-150 Supercab monster in person! Moms and Dads will definately want to bring the kids out to see this behemoth! How cool is this???

We LOVE giving stuff away to you cruisers at Somernites! So, at the April show we will be drawing for a 27″ Homak Tool Box courtesy of our good friends at of NAPA South 27 Auto Parts in Somerset! Simply cruise your show car or truck thru any of the entrance gates and you will receive one (1) FREE ticket for the drawing on this Super Door Prize!
Your ticket is a double ticket. Tear it in half, keep one half and put the other half in either of the Super Door Prize barrels located next to the Somernites T-Shirt trailer. We will be drawing a NUMBER, not a name so there is no need to fill out the ticket. It’s that simple! The drawing will be held on the Square in Downtown Somerset at 6:30pm on April 27, 2013 and you must be present to win! There is NO PURCHASE NECESSARY! Only show car/truck owners are eligible for this prize. |

April Fun Run is…a Poker Run for CA$H! |
|
We are changing up our regular Saturday Morning Fun Run just alittle to kick off the season! As always, participants meet at Hardees South (stoplight #22 on US 27) for a FREE breakfast (Fun Run participants only) before heading out. But, this time we’ll be staying in Somerset and visiting some of our great Somernites Sponsors to pickup playing cards as part of our First Annual Somernites Poker Run!
Full instructions and details will be distributed before heading out and you’ll need to register for the event at Hardees before starting the run. This is NOT a race and all regular traffic laws will sill be in effect!
After collecting your cards, you will rally at Somerset Mall (stoplight #23) to turn them in.
If you put together the best hand, you could win big cash prizes! There is NO ENTRY FEE!
Winners will be announced during the Show & Shine in downtown Somerset.
It’s going to be blast so, come on out and join the fun!

Thursday, April 25th, 7pm-???, Tune-up Cruise-In at Dairy Queen on US 27 at stoplight #6. An informal gathering of hot rods and storytellers. Some tasty treats as well!
Friday, April 26th, Noon-2:00pm, Pepsi Meet & Greet at Danny’s Rod Shop approx. 3 miles north of Somerset on US 27. Free Pepsi and t-shirts (while they last) plus a vist from Classic Hits Q97!
Friday, April 26th, 6:00-10:00pm, Walmart Block Party in Downtown Somerset!
300+ great rides, live bands, great food, parts vendors, kids attractions and a very relaxed atmosphere! Bring your lawnchair and enjoy the evening. Free admission!
Saturday, April 27th, 8-9:00am,

Saturday, April 27th, 7:00pm, Cruisin The Strip!
Show vehicles exit the downtown area and head to six-lane US 27 for hot cruising action! Wall to wall hot rods, classics and customs. You simply have to see it to believe it! Cruise your ride all the way to stoplight #25 and back again! Please obey all posted traffic regulations and enjoy cruising the night away!
Saturday, April 27th, 7:00pm-???, Cruize-a-Palooza at Somerset Mall (stoplight #23) on south US 27! Live music, great food and plenty of fun and games for the entire family! Cruise your hotrod in and enjoy the fun! Shop all the Somerset Mall stores while you’re there!

Somernites Cruise The largest FREE monthly car event in Kentucky and held every Fourth Saturday, April thru October, rain or shine!! Highlights of each month’s activities include a Block Party on Friday night, a Saturday Show & Shine on the blocked off streets of historic downtown Somerset, KY and lots of fun while “cruisin’ the strip” on both nights!
