The Somerville New Jersey Cruise Night of June 12, 2015, wasn’t quite as well attended as it has been in past years. I got to downtown Somerville around 3:30 P.M., and found a spot not only on the Street, but just a short distance from the DJ, which is close to the center of town. In years past, arriving at this Cruise Night at, or around 3:30 P.M., meant ending up on the outskirts of town center, almost into the next town over. By 6:00 P.M., the crowd wasn’t much bigger, with only a handful of vehicles populating the last block in town, and nothing in any of the back Lots. With that said, there was still a fair number of vehicles present, cars, trucks, and motorcycles, mostly ranging in age from the 1950’s and up, with some Streetrods, and Hotrods representing the pre WWII era vehicles. The Cruise Night finally began petering out around 9:00 P.M., after the DJ stopped playing his music, and while not the extravaganza of years past, the event is still worth a visit to.
