The Metuchen NJ Rescue Squad Benefit Car-Truck-Motorcycle Show

Metuchen, NJ
Sunday, August 9, 2015

The weather couldn’t have been much better, if we could have custom ordered it, the participant turnout, blew away ALL previous years, and even the first two years of the Show’s existence combined. The participants began rolling in at 8:30, and 1-1/2 ahead of our official start time, by 9:30 A.M., we were beginning to run low on space to park participants. The array of gorgeous vehicles, almost overwhelming, giving our Sponsors, and proxies a run for their money when it came to picking the winners.

Dirty Rat Apparel donated a T-Shirt for the 2nd chance prize our ‘participant prize’ drawing, as did Die cast Jimmy Fitz. We had ‘Fictitious’ offering up a wide selection of custom made genuine fake License plates, yet another vendor with a nice offering of automotive related apparel, the ‘Gutter Girls’ as they call themselves, selling a maintenance free Gutter system for one’s home, and NY Digital offering Show Photos, Plaques with one’s vehicle on them, Mugs, and several other photo items.

Our DJ, Tracey Tanner did his usual masterful job of spinning the tunes, and at around 2:20 P.M. the end of Show ceremonies began, with a field of 26 Trophies in all awarded, including one very special Trophy, in memory of Greg Gers, a fellow hobbyist, and personal friend of the Show crew, who lost his battle with A.L.S., more commonly known as ‘Lou Gehrig’s Disease’, in the Fall of 2014.

I cannot say THANK YOU enough times, or in enough ways, to ALL who participated in our Show today. Early estimates are that we will have blown away yet another total, and that is our 1st 2-3 years worth of donations to our local Rescue Squad. The total thus far, stands at around $2,600.00 going to the Metuchen Rescue Squad. Once again, THANK YOU to all our participants, and of course our Sponsors.
