They want to cut my leg off a clearly distraught Larry Huffman told me. I was speechless and just listened as Larry relayed that several of his doctors and surgeons had informed him that they did not believe the leg would ever heal and amputation below the knee would be their recommendation.

As long as I live I’m not going to let them do it Larry continued. I still believe the leg is savable and will fight till my last breath to keep that from happening.

Even back then doctors said the leg was not savable but Larry found specialists who said yes or maybe and so the nine year ordeal of pain, money, time, hope and promises started.

Since then it’s been numerous operations, leg braces, plates screwed into his foot and stem cell procedures. At first successful they never lasted. It slowly progressed to Larry using a cane, then crutches and now a wheelchair.

Now one would never know cause Larry’s trademark “Supermouth” voice is still crystal clear and never waivers or lapses. But this ordeal has robbed him of energy. Of course he hides it well.

It was however short lived as Larry was admitted to the hospital as soon as he returned to Los Angeles. Fact is he just got discharged and is currently at a rehab center in Redlands California.
What’s next? Larry says the doctor who has been treating him for the last six years wants to try yet another procedure. Will it work, well probably only the good lord knows that answer One thing is for certain Larry want to fight and is determined to keep the leg.
Even now with all the physical challenges he faces Larry Huffman wants to do what he does best
Your friends, fans and all those that love you hope the leg can be saved. We pray that the miracle you are seeking comes to pass. But remember this, the loss of a leg will never change our admiration for you and it will not effect the voice that has made you a Superstar and know by name worldwide.
