Unique Car Art to be Displayed at Zephyrhills Fall AutoFest Nov 14 – 17

CARLISLE, PA – There have been some very unique cars come and go from the Festival Park in Zephyrhills, Florida and with two events annually, Fall and Winter AutoFest, a wide array of makes, models and styles have been viewed and reviewed by hundreds of thousands of enthusiasts since 1974. While no one can specifically say what the most unique car ever seen has been, it is fair to say that a handful on display as part of Zephyrhills Fall Auto Fest (November 14-17) will turn heads and have attendees talking. This year alone, the artist and his cars have been showcased at the famed New York Auto Show and Spring Carlisle in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The art is unique because it’s done on cars and trucks and its all courtesy of artist Laurence Gartel.

Gartel, a New York native, was trained by the legendary Andy Warhol and has been considered the “Father of the Digital Art World” for nearly 40 years. His work has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, Joan Whitney Payson Museum, Long Beach Museum of Art, Princeton Art Museum, PS 1, Norton Museum, Palm Beach Photographic Center and in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian Institute’s Museum of American History and the Bibliotheque Nationale. His biography for his pioneering efforts is included in “Who’s Who,” “Who’s Who in the East,” “Who’s Who in America,” “Who’s Who in American Art,” and “Who’s Who in the World.” Along with his great career achievements, Gartel has since branched out into putting his special touch on otherwise ordinary machines via automotive art.

That special touch comes to Zephyrhills as part of a weekend-long collector car show, the perfect complement to an already popular weekend that includes a swap meet, car coral and auction. Coming to the event will be a very special Chrysler 300 as well as an art display that depicts additional aspects of Gartel’s automotive artistic talents. Gartel, his art display and his art car will be onsite all four days of event weekend and he’ll be available for autographs and photos too.

“I was asked by Zephyrhills AutoFest event manager Jim Brady to be part of the event,” said Gartel. “Jim helped to get me involved with Spring Carlisle earlier this year and showcase some of my cars. I had such a good time working with Carlisle Events that I was happy to once again accept Jim’s invitation to be part of a show backed by Carlisle Events,” continued Gartel. “What I offer artistically is unique, different and great for any automotive enthusiast who considers themselves to be just a little bit different. I look forward to meeting everyone and seeing their reactions as they check out my work.

Gartel and his work will be positioned near the main vendor gate during Fall AutoFest. This display will be part of the car show and celebrity get together scheduled for the event. In addition to Gartel, attendees can meet another creative automotive mind, Michael Vetter plus Cindy Williams and Candy Clark from American Graffiti, racers Milo Coleman and Don Garlits while also enjoying the show car display.
