Last week, a celebration of life was held for Le Roi “Tex” Smith to honor his tremendous heart, his love of hot rods, and his incredible contribution to the hot rod community and hobby.

The publishers of his autobiography, Grafitti Publications, sent us a copy of his autobiography with the request that we give it to a fan and reader, and we can’t think of anything better!

So, in order to make it fair, we’d like to ask you to share a story of a hot rodding hero of yours — whether it’s Tex, a family member, a friend, or a journalist, builder, enthusiast or driver who inspired you. It doesn’t have to be fancy – just a few words or sentences.

From those entries, we’ll draw a winner out of the hat, and share all of the Hot Rod Hero love with readers.
