Thursday evening the Show and Shine early birds assembled at the host hotel and paraded through Bowling Green. About half way through the parade a barely streetable Chevy Nova pulled away from the curb and got directly behind me. Apparently he had over heated. For the rest of the parade he would lay back and then punch it and lay back again. To much cam and to much stall. Couple of times I thought he was going up my tail pipe. But he didn't and the parade was a lot of fun. It ended at a go cart track where a number of parade participants won free laps.. Friday morning I hooked up with Paul Hutchens at our motel. Paul is an old friend from my working days, a photographer (Search Photos by Hutch) a contributor to Hot Rod Hot Line, and a drag racing fanatic. It was good to see Paul again. I also made a new friend, Terry MacDonald from St Louis, at breakfast. This was the first event for Terry and his fresh Model A highboy coupe. And at the park I found Bill Pettis, another rodding friend who came over from Memphis in his Model A highboy roadster.
