The Spring Turkey Run traditionally ends on a Sunday afternoon with a parade lap open to all participants who wish to line up at 2 PM and give it a try. Some folks drive their show car around the track while others might drive the pickup truck that hauled their trailer to the event. Everyone with a vehicle that is inside the track gates on Sunday afternoon can drive their own car or truck and learn what it is like to be up on the high banks of Daytona International Speedway, but at only 30 or 40 miles per hour. You might notice that almost every car had a passenger or driver with a cell phone stuck out the window to make a video recording of their two and a half mile trip around the track. Of course they’re making a video, you can’t do this every day. I could see a lot of smiles through my 200mm lens.
