It’s always good to see our friend Dan Baker of Alumicraft ...  He is a wonderful craftsman ... and as we found out this trip.... more...  We have a little story about Dan.  Our van had an airbag issue which caused us to lose ride height...  making it impossible to move...  This was at 10 pm near the  Nats ...  Dan saw us and stopped..  even though we had help and thought we were doing fine...  Dan stayed and ended up solving the problem, helping  until we were on our way .... A fine example of what our hobby is all about... THANKS Dan ...

DSC_0788

Now that you know what a fine young  Dan is....

DSC_0789

Take a look at his craftsmanship....

www.alumicraft.com

We really have a great  rodder story ....   as we arrived in Louisville Tuesday night, our van experienced an air ride problem that caused us to lose ride height ... which meant we were going nowhere .....  so pulled over on Preston Hwy and immediately were besieged with offers of help.  Our friends Paul and DW Horton of Welder Series stopped ...  our friends at the La Quinta Hotel, Paul and Gene,  found some local parts people who spent their evening machining a part,   people who lived in the neighborhood brought out a floor jack and extra tools ....Dan Baker from Alumicraft, and many strangers stopped to see if we needed anything or to see if they could help.... all this at 9 p.m.  - 11 p.m.    it was really heartwarming... although thoroughly typical ... of our industry.  Great people who always offer to help a fellow rodder.  so a big THANKS ... to everyone ...  it was a very small mishap ...  but it showed the colors of our fellow rodders and those in our industry .....    guess that’s why we love it so much....

As you all know.....   the show is just part of the adventure of a car show.....  the other part is the TRIP...     and on the way home from Louisville ....  a route we’ve taken now many many times ....   Jack found New Treasure ......       read on ....
